ECHINOCEREUS PULCHELLUS

    1. It was very hot in the greenhouse when the flowers opened and I think this made the petals curve back.

  2. That is a beautiful flower Alain. Those Echinocereus can really throw out some great flowers. I don't have E. pulchellus but I do have an old plant of E. knippelianus which is another low growing echinocereus with nice flowers. I've always wanted to grow E. davisii, which is really small but I've never got around to getting the seed. Are you growing, or ever grown, Echinocereus davisii?

  3. I have grown viridiflorus in the past [ I understand davisii is a subspecies ] . Odd flowers. I like the small Echinocereus. The only larger species I grow is longisetus delaetii but stems can die off.
