SEED SOWING

After going through the seed lists, placing orders and waiting for the seeds to arrive time for the first sowing.  The first batch are all Lithops.

Pots clean and labels prepared.

Normal soil mix but with any big lumps removed.

Gravel on top so the seeds can fall between.

Seeds on a piece of folded paper.

Seeds scattered on surface. I put the pot on another piece of paper so that I notice if any miss. No matter how careful I am I still seem to get the seeds in one place in the pot. I then  spray the seeds so they fall between the gravel. Label in.

Off to the propagator.

  1. Willy Verheulpen has suggested using aluminium foil not paper so the seed rolls off in sequence when tapped and do not get stuck. I will try it this weekend.
