    1. Do you happen to know the Cole number by any chance?

    2. It was not raised from Cole seed. Denise Uys Schoeman left a message to say it was a form found around Windhoek. That would point to Ex Cole collections 067-070 but not all plants raised from Cole collections look alike anyway. The original collection could be several generations away now. .

    3. Thanks. According to lithops.info, most of pseudotruncatellas are found around Windhoek. I thought there might be a way of ordering seeds to get plants like yours. But I guess it's just chance.

    4. I had a look at the Coles book and those from around Windhoek match most closely my plant so ex C 067-070. An excuse to grow more seed [ if you need one ]. They will all look different anyway so keep trying. I have raised some psuedotruncatella this year so when they show their true colours I will try to post a photo if they look like this for you to choose. I have a cat picture I want to put in for you.

    5. Looking at your wonderful plant I will most certainly sow the pseudotrucatella species you recommended later this year. All variations are welcome.

I'm looking forward to the cat picture ;)

  2. Rika it may be worthwhile looking for seed with a TOK collection number. Interestingly Tok Schoeman advised in connection with Cole collection 410 [ amicorum ] this represents plants from two sites which have his collection references TOK 73 and TOK 67. Freckled Friend will come from TOK 73.

    2. Tok lives in Windhoek and I have received some of his seed through the Mesemb Study Group.
