  1. Alain you are giving me a whole new appreciation of conophytums! The flowers are really spectacular. For me, it is a shame they are at their best, and do their main growing this time of year. To grow them well I would have to keep them in my outdoor frames and if the weather was cold, and the frames couldn't be opened, I wouldn't get to enjoy those beautiful flowers. Obviously, conophytums and a greenhouse, really go together. Your C. tantillum shown above is quite large, how long have you had it? Beautiful plant.

    1. It is nice to have the season for flowers extend into the winter. The Conos have been good this year but the weather is dull at the moment which is not good for flowering even with a greenhouse. Although I have grown Lithops for many years Conos are more recent. There is a good supply of seedlings in the UK. I am not sure how old the tantillum is but I would think it was a seedling from Terry Smale.
